Okanagan Development Pulse
Privacy
Effective July 30, 2026. Okanagan Development Pulse is operated by MCH Strategic Holdings Inc. This notice explains how ODP handles personal information.
Information collected
ODP does not require an account to view the public website. A visitor who voluntarily requests the free Development Watch digest provides an email address and records consent through a confirmation step. Stripe processes payments and provides ODP with the customer name, email address, subscription status, and transaction identifiers needed to administer the paid service. Cloudflare Access uses the subscriber email address to authenticate access to paid editions. ODP does not receive or store full payment-card details. Cloudflare also processes standard security logs and aggregate website-traffic information.
Anonymous website measurement
The public website records anonymous product-usage events such as page and section views, Development Watch and trade-page readership, scroll milestones, sample links, subscription-button clicks, device class, and a random identifier that lasts only for the browser tab session. Owner verification and browser-automation sessions can be labelled with a coarse testing category so they are excluded from commercial reporting. ODP does not record typed search text, names, email addresses, IP addresses, advertising identifiers, cookies, or browser fingerprints in this event dataset. Events and testing labels are retained for up to 90 days, used only to improve the website and purchase journey, and are not used for targeted advertising. The first-party event collector does not run when the browser signals Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Public-record information
ODP processes development information published by municipalities, regional districts, and provincial sources. Internal source records may contain names or identifiers published by those bodies. Customer-facing outputs suppress individual applicant names and retain only clearly organizational business or public-body contacts. ODP does not enrich records with private residential contact information.
How information is used
Free-digest information is used only to confirm consent, deliver the requested weekly Development Watch digest, prevent duplicate delivery, and honour unsubscribe requests. Paid-subscriber information is used to verify entitlement, deliver paid editions, issue subscriber-specific licence identifiers, provide essential service and billing notices, prevent duplicate delivery, respond to requests, secure the service, and meet legal or accounting obligations. ODP does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or add digest subscribers to personal sales outreach.
Service providers and location
Stripe provides payment and subscription administration. Cloudflare hosts the public website and protected subscriber portal, stores encrypted service files, authenticates portal users, and provides security and aggregate web analytics. Google Gmail provides email delivery. These providers may process information outside Canada under their own privacy terms and safeguards.
Retention and safeguards
Free-digest email addresses, consent timestamps, confirmation state, and delivery state are kept in a database isolated from anonymous analytics and paid-subscriber records. Unsubscribed addresses are retained only as needed to document and honour the unsubscribe request. Active paid-subscriber details are obtained from Stripe and synchronized to the protected portal only as required to control access. Local delivery records use pseudonymous identifiers. Anonymous public-site events and portal access and download records are normally retained for up to 90 days. Portal records may include subscriber email, licence identifier, requested file, timestamp, and Cloudflare security request identifier. Generated service editions and recovery backups may be retained for up to one year. Stripe and accounting records may be retained longer where required by law. ODP uses access controls, least-privilege service credentials, private object storage, encrypted web connections, Windows-protected credential storage, and service-provider security controls appropriate to the information handled.
Access, correction, and complaints
Contact the Privacy Officer, Okanagan Development Pulse, at okanagandevelopmentpulse@gmail.com to request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a privacy concern. ODP may need to verify the requester's identity before releasing account information.
